Nurs­eries are a big part of the web­site, but I must digress some­times. When I expe­ri­ence a place like Mys­tic, Con­necti­cut I find myself men­tally sell­ing in SoCal and cal­cu­lat­ing what I could afford in Mys­tic. It is the quin­tes­sen­tial New Eng­land sea­port vil­lage. Lots of yachts, old white houses, and gar­dens. And yes, there is a Mys­tic Pizza! But why have pizza when you can chomp down on a lob­ster roll? Which is pre­cisely what Mary Lynn and I did last night!

In the gar­den­ing mode, I’ve never seen so many gor­geous win­dow boxes full of flow­ers in front of the stores as I have on the East Coast. So Cal, take note!!!
