The Cooper Gar­den designed by Steve Gerischer

Style and Whim­sey in the Sus­tain­able Gar­den is the name of the 8th annual sym­po­sium held by Pacific Hor­ti­cul­ture and co-​sponsored by the L.A. County Arbore­tum, Asso­ci­a­tion of Pro­fes­sional Land­scape Design­ers Greater LA Dis­trict and Mediter­ranean Gar­den Soci­ety. This 4 day event held in Pasadena Sep­tem­ber 23 thru the 26th is a fun, valu­able and edu­ca­tional expe­ri­ence no mat­ter what kind of gar­den­ing you do. At the risk of sound­ing like a bro­ken record, we are so for­tu­nate to have access to the riches of this sym­po­sium. There is a day of spe­cial all day gar­den tours (by bus) and workshops(Thursday); Fri­day, Sat­ur­day and Sun­day includes morn­ing speak­ers and after­noon bus tours to gar­dens which empha­size sus­tain­abil­ity, art and prob­lem solv­ing.
