The Life of the Party!

What a fabulous orb!

Isn’t this lamp terrific!! What a concept! Designed by architect Kara Bartelt, it is sold on Etsy.com (www.etsy.com/listing/51344198). The following is from the website:

LIVE LAMP, which debuted at de LaB in Los Angeles California June 2010, is a glowing nest of eighty live Fuschii v Gracillis tillandsia air plants mounted to a blown glass orb. Illuminated internally by a CFL grow lamp, these epiphytic plants survive with no dirt — just UV, air and a little moisture. Remove the dome and run the plants under water or mist liberally once a week.

This is a limited edition from toHOLD — LIVE LAMPs are available by special order via toHOLD’s etsy shop this summer. Note each Live Lamp takes a 7 – 10 business days for production, some customization available. All LIVE LAMPS are signed and numbered by toHOLD.

Santa, please, I’m begging you!!!!

If you haven’t discovered Etsy yet, you are in for a treat (literally, as they sell the most amazing candy and baked goods). Following is a statement from the website:

Our mission is to enable people to make a living making things, and to reconnect makers with buyers.

Our vision is to build a new economy and present a better choice.

Buy, Sell, and Live Handmade.
